Privacy & cookies
This website takes orders and bookings for The Patty Shack, 3 Market Place, Brigg, DN20 8LD. The Patty Shack is responsible for your personal information (the “data controller”). The site is run for them by EasyGrub, which handles your information only on The Patty Shack's instructions.
What we collect and why
- Your name, email and phone number, to make and update you about your order or booking.
- Your delivery address, to deliver your order.
- What you ordered, and any notes, to prepare it and keep the records a business must keep.
- If you create an account: your password (stored scrambled, never readable) and saved addresses.
- If you ask for them: offers and news from The Patty Shack by email. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can also stop them from your account. These emails note whether they were opened and which links were clicked, so The Patty Shack can tell what's useful.
Payments
Card payments are taken by Stripe on The Patty Shack's behalf. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never seen or stored by The Patty Shack or EasyGrub.
The Patty Shack's app
If you order through The Patty Shack's app on iPhone or Android, the same information is used in the same way. The app also keeps a sign-in key on your phone if you have an account, and, if you allow notifications, a notification address for your phone so we can tell you when your order or booking changes. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings at any time. When you pay by card, Stripe's payment screen can use the camera to scan your card, but only if you choose to; no picture is kept. The app doesn't track you across other apps or websites and contains no advertising.
Who else handles it
EasyGrub runs the ordering system and hosts it on servers in the UK and EU. Stripe processes card payments, and emails are sent through Brevo. Notifications to phones go through Apple, Google and Expo. Each only receives what it needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years for tax purposes. You can delete your account at any time from the account page; past orders are kept, without your login.
Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs to work: one to remember your basket, one to keep you signed in if you have an account, and Stripe's own cookies on its payment page to prevent fraud. If you click a link in one of The Patty Shack's emails, a cookie remembers which email for seven days, so an order it led to can be counted. We don't use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by contacting The Patty Shack at brigg@pattyshack.local. If you're unhappy with how it's been handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
